The Department of European Languages (DEL) organized a four-day seminar on the topic, "The Didactics of Literature", held last June 26-29 in cooperation with the University of Sorbonne-Nouvelle and with the support of the Embassy of France to the Philippines.
Prof. Donatienne Woerly from the Sorbonne-Nouvelle facilitated the seminar attended by around 40 students and faculty members from UP Diliman and other universities and institutions that offer French courses. This seminar featured the methods and techniques on how to use literary works as a spring board in teaching and elaborating grammar and different concepts related to the French language.
In line with the memorandum of agreement between the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UPD) and the University of Sorbonne-Nouvelle, this annual intensive seminar aims to further strengthen the faculty of DEL and provide the latest methods and approaches in the teaching of French as a foreign language to students and teachers of French alike.
