Activities of the Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Section (SCAC) in 2010
To strengthen the cultural cooperation between France and the Philippines on key bilateral, European and multilateral issues (development of exchange networks and partnerships with universities, research centers, development agencies, think tanks, cultural institutions, businesses and civil society), the Embassy will hold meetings and visits in and out of the Greater Manila (Metro Manila), notably in the cities of Baguio (located north of Luzon), Dumaguete and Iloilo (located in the islands of Visayas), and in the island of Mindanao.
One of the priorities of the SCAC is to support the missions of experts and intellectuals who aim to establish new projects and partnerships. Therefore, the Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs and the sectorial attachés will travel to various parts of Metro Manila and the archipelago. Furthermore, as an accompaniment to these cooperation programs in the academic, scientific, intellectual, cultural and audiovisual fields, the Embassy will organize working lunches or dinners with its Filipino and foreign partners.
The cultural, scientific, technical and audiovisual relations between France and the Philippines develop within the framework of a Cooperation Agreement signed in 1978, the terms of which are updated on a regular basis.
